Do Jump birthday parties consist of a combination of a Do Jump class and Echo Theater space rental. While there are party packages, we are flexible and happy to try to accommodate your vision.

Do Jump class:

Our classes begin with a creative and fun image-based warm-up. Once the students have stretched out, we play theater and creative movement games which encourage students to express themselves through movement in a safe and supportive environment. Next, we split up into groups for acrobatics and trapeze. In the acrobatics rotation, we focus on fun tricks we can learn quickly and safely. We start off with a few basics, such as pencil rolls, forward rolls, cartwheels, and bridges. Then, we use these skills to explore partner and group tricks such as wheel barrel, pyramids, and elephant walk to name a few. If partner tricks are not the groups interest, we often explore character tumbling, learning to tumble as a monkey, a detective, in a wind storm, falling asleep, etc. or juggling scarves in combination with basic acrobatics. In the trapeze rotation we use single point "dance" trapezes. These trapezes are hung low enough that the student can push off the mat with his or her feet to swing or spin. At a birthday party, we teach students safe swinging and spinning technique, and a few trapeze "hangs", such as side hang, sitting on the bar, and standing on the bar. If it seems appropriate, we also explore partner tricks on the trapeze, such as "airplane" and "teeter-totter".

If students are experienced Do Jumpers, we adjust the curriculum accordingly, attempting to challenge more advanced students, while keeping students of all levels safe and interested. Students are encouraged to try everything. We break down tricks into the smallest possible steps and encourage students to do their best. If a student is afraid of a trick, we use spotting, mats, and detailed safety descriptions to foster a feeling of safety. We encourage students to overcome their fears, but do not force anyone to do anything. Since parties are all about the birthday girl or boy, we are happy to take special requests.

Space Rental:

After the class, the Echo Theater is yours for cake, pizza, presents, games, etc. A teacher will remain in the theater throughout your party and can help with supervision, but is not responsible for entertaining the children after the class is over. We will provide a clean space, table and chairs, and Do Jump teachers. You are welcome to bring decorations, food, drink, etc.

Cost:

• Standard birthday party: 1 hr. class for up to 10 students plus one hour of space rental: $200
• Deluxe birthday party: 1 hr. class for up to 16 students plus one hour of space rental: $250
• Mini party: 1 hr. class for up to 10 students with no extra space rental: $135
